Is anyone still out there?

I've been thinking about what I need to be doing with my life and career. I have a bit of a change planned. It's not a big one, but I think it will make me much happier in my chosen career of library science.

But I don't want to be just some librarian somewhere. I want to contribute to the profession and actually do something beyond the four walls of my own institution. So, how does one go about that?

Well, it seems the most common first step (based purely on anecdotal evidence, of course) is starting a blog. So, I think I may just repurpose this blog into something of value.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Is there a niche that needs to be filled by yet another blogger?

Is anyone still reading this anyway?

A New Game

Hipster Bingo

It's difficult to play in NEPA, but definitely doable in Pitt or Philly!

Best line I've read in a long time

Identity Revealed

Heidelberg University library in Germany has announced that the identity of the Mona Lisa has been confirmed. According to marginalia in a book owned by Agostino Vespuccui, a friend of da Vinci, the subject of the portrait is Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Florentine merchant Franceso del Giocondo.

The article from Spiegel Online can be found here.
